Small Home Energy
About Small Home Energy
Small Home Energy is an independent publication about appliance costs, cooling and everyday comfort in smaller homes.
Who this is for
We write for US apartment residents, renters and people choosing appliances for smaller spaces. A good decision begins with what fits your home and what it costs to use, not just the amount on a price tag.
What you will find here
Our guides explain the inputs behind a decision. Our free calculators let you replace example numbers with your own. We use public technical information, manufacturer documentation and clearly identified worked examples.
We do not operate a product-testing laboratory. The launch articles are research-based explanations, not hands-on reviews. See our methodology for the difference between a rating, an estimate and a measurement.
Who publishes it
Published by Amysson Fernandes. The publication is not affiliated with the US Department of Energy, ENERGY STAR, any utility or appliance manufacturer.
Editorial accountability
Small Home Energy is responsible for these research-based guides. Sources support technical background; our arithmetic examples are labeled separately. Publisher: Amysson Fernandes. Corrections can be submitted through our contact page. Read how we calculate and review, or see how to report an issue. No engineering credentials or first-hand testing are claimed.
How it is supported
This edition has no advertising or affiliate tracking. Future advertising or commercial links will be identified and the relevant disclosures updated before activation.
About the imagery
The apartment image is an AI-generated editorial illustration. It is not a photograph of a tested product, a customer’s home or a measured installation.
